i applied for the temp budtender to get on paper but they say its not open today. I think its filling in for covid positive people. itll be dumb if the college wants me to wear a mask when im alone with plants? I would need weekly testing. im not gonna take this version of a vaccine for any job. Theres another vaccine that is open source so anyone can review it or even make it. Also on the college thing- its hemp. they cant use weed yet because its federally illegal
No⦠Should have known
im looking at listings. Im an expert at flying rc helicopters and can build and maintain that stuff. Drones fly themselves but I see a listing nearby to take real estate pics from drones. Im gonna apply for that too. another one seems bs and says 150 k for inspecting a roof? its up to 30 per hour taking real estate pics. Also with a bit of training and experience i can build my own drone and have my own business and hire employees to fly my extra drones. I talked to a real estate agent a min ago to get a job but hes on a deal. It can work out/
Youāre absolutely right. I worked in extraction for a company that just opened itās doors for business when the industry relatively new and so there was a lot of things we had to learn about the process. Eventually we got everything dialed in but the owners of the company wanted 2nd and sometimes even 3rd opinions to insure they were getting the maximum yields out of their investments. So they hired quite a lot of college degree consultants that charged top dollar for their knowledge. By the time they left in providing their services we learned that we already knew everything they did and more. Actually they set us back in production using their methods. So we then showed them our way of doing things and to their surprise they realized we were actually teaching them things instead of teaching is. One afternoon lunchtime came and we went into the break room where a couple consultants were at and they left their notebook opened on the table and I shit you not. Iāll be damned if they didnāt document our process for their own gain. Degreeās donāt mean a damn thing when it comes to the science of manufacturing THC concentrates.
Nick always told me the owners of that lab were MAJOR chadsā¦
I heard about that Canadian Pharma company wanting to buy your liters of d10 for like 50k + or something and they wouldnt sell them?!
Crazy they literally threw d10 away I feel like instead of making money off it
Bro it was a shit show there and still is. Honestly idk how theyāre still operational. Last year alone. They hired supposedly master growers and ended up losing 3 harvest due to pollination. 3 rooms 3 separate harvest all full of seeds and they paid these guys well. Not only that. The previous growers showed Jesus and I how to cultivate using their method and let us do everything from clone to flower so that we can learn and take over when they left but the owners didnāt even consider giving us the positions. We came back the next week and they already had those growers hired. Whatās even more fucked up is that Jesus and I were growing the highest yields ever cultivated there at a minimum of 28 % THC and a maximum of 36.15 THC with a average of 32% THC. We didnāt get a āGOOD JOB BOYSā or nothing. Not even a dollar raise.

Its not work, there is no harvest needed but we will do all that- by me I mean ill tell a crew of wooks do this do that. I think they just chop and maybe test it but then it just gets incinerated. A new job opened up as a teacher instead of assistnd but i cant figure out the pay. its based on lecture hour equivalent?
Part-time faculty are paid on a lecture hour equivalents (LHE) basis. For most courses, the LHE is the same as a credit hour. For others, the LHE represents additional work for teaching the class, such as grading papers for Composition classes or teaching a class with a laboratory section (computers, languages, and the sciences); in those cases, the LHE represents a figure higher than the credit hour. All part-time faculty start at the beginning pay rates, regardless of the level and type of experience obtained elsewhere. For the 2020-21 academic year rates are $1155/LHE for faculty without doctorates and $1237/LHE for faculty with doctorates. Part-time faculty advance one step within the salary schedule with the successful completion of 2 fall & spring semesters where 3+ credit hours are taught in each semester. Its like 1155 per lecture hour and the class is 4 hours? thats less than the hourly for assistant. but maybe you do 2 classes in a row and get 8 lhe? One thing i hadnt considered is schools take time off but with a cannabis lab maybe its full year round to keep it all alive? I think the numbers are based on a semester and hours credit. 4 hours credit is 4x 1155 right? classes cant last more than 2 hours. It still sounds like the asistant makes more at straight 26 per hour 24 hours per week.
which state/s are gonna legalize soon?
It sux when bosses are unappreciative. I used to do my ups job absolutely independently other than bosses acting like an ass. I let them have it once about them never ever saying good job for getting it done 1800 days in a row with zero supervision. they did things for other drivers in the daytime like pizza parties. but on my shift the bosses went home when i started. It was all up to me to do 20 stops per hour and make it to the airplane on time. then if i had issues the night before i wouldnt want to bring it back in to startt the shift so I was silent too much. I had devilish coworkers. All I wanted to do is work, I had the most seniority. but others got the hours??? its against the union rules.
the guy im speaking of also got paid more hourly than me. At some point i got an unexpected raise and we all did. it was a few bux extra per hour so everyone shut up. And then my dumbass buddy from high school got shorted a couple hours and made a stink and they noticed it and then we didnt ever get raises for years. This new guy was still gettting his extra money and would rub it in. And on the hours, I argued so i got all the last stops. So id be out there an extra hour. But when i came back he would be hanging out and then punch out after me but there was no supervisors and i never told on hiim because im not a narc. it was frustrating
I know the feeling bro. I was working for this company about 6 months after they opened expecting to climb the corporate ladder. But nope. I only got a dollar raise one time and was there for 3 years. Everyone was getting bonuses and 5 dollar raises for their work 2 months after they got there and I was there for 2 and a half years before they got hired on. I started out as a lead extractor and left there working as grower assistant/ trimmer and harvester. I went down the ladder the longer I worked there
Hey brother anything out there for grower assistant/extraction tech in Adelanto CA?
Did you ever bring up your concerns to them ir did you stay quiet all along?
Hope you find a company that values your work.
I voiced my concerns plenty to my operations manager and even he knew I deserved a lot more than what I was given. He did speak up for me several of times to the owners but they wouldnāt budge after the dollar raise they gave me after a year and a half of employment there.

So I have a college degree and I have been in this industry my entire life. I remember very little if anything, I learned from college. Iām sure it has come to benift me from time to time by the ability to advertise myself with a peice of paper. But nothing special that special to me about it anymore. I majored in communication to refine my art of bullshitting. Now the minor in horticulture would seem more applicable and useful to me and maybe at some point it was, but when I try to recall somthing learned and still utilized daily I donāt come up with much. Maybe some early plant nutient uptake fundamentals. When any of yall are applying to job with requirements fill in the suggested education part with somthing witty or funny i.e . Tegrity farms. you know thevworld renowned farmer Randy Marsh⦠make someone laugh. Laughter plants the seeds for emotional enjoyment and with such a cut and dry prerequisite for submitting an application. Never be detoured by this arbitrary stipulation soley based on perceived future success created from a future employee having a perception of a competitive edge over others because some state structured institution awarded you a pice if paper after years of you paying them to. I almost guarantee that realistically more evn most people hiring someone they will be working with with would apply higher value to you and especially your hopefully compatiable personality than the percived success to follow from having recived a peice of over priced paper in fact odds are they burn and come on, we all like a good laugh. No colleges i knew of taught the detiled steps on how to run a successful cannabis cultivation business especilly the process from germination to post processing. So Iād say use these details to sell them on you as a person not some framed paper. Eventually somewhere will be able to teach every aspect of this plants uses and potential. Never be discouraged to GO FOR IT because realistically thats all it ever takes. If you maintain drive and the persuite to excell you should eventually become successful. The majority of my knowledge and understanding for this industry has come through years of first hand experiences. The only reason I started taking horticulture classes was out of the desire to become the best I could at this controversial trade before it was acceptable or even discussed. Once the credits started rolling in the little required for the horticulture minor was cake.
Whenever I am hiring employees I will rarely ever put much value on academics where as comprehension, the desire to excell and a strong work ethic are much more valueable and appealing to me. Regardless of any level of knowledge or understanding. From my experience if someone has the ability to learn and a desire to be good at what they apply themselves to, I can teach most people everything needed to grasp the fundamentals. From there its just progression everyday while accomplishing differnet tasks or jobs requird in the grow or lab. Eventually time and experience will really help refine your techniques. Once you will begin to develop many SOP for all the journaling you start developimg a large assortment of personalized SOPs. The SOP help create successful consistincies to follow and refine in crating base lines of desired outcome eventually the implimitauton will lead to establishing sops for all aspects of the operations. The rigorous documentation of valubale details start the journals for documentation every aspects of the operation and then just refine with time. Be detailed and diligent as you expand to new details becoming valuable to record. Typically new detials worth adding to observatin documentation will suddenly come to you like epiphanies.
Next thing you know the yearās fly by and those journals become your references to referr back to from time to time. Your lifeās library basically, that you can always refer back to and analyze the diffencees in your product. proformances and production. Never let anyone cast doubt on your dreams or aspirations your potential future success is compleatly in your hands.
Donāt let anyone tell you you canāt be taught or have what it takes to become what you want. Everyone can attain success and knowledge in any industry without accreditation or prior training. All that is really needed is determination and motivation. When one strives to continuously excell and progress every day in somthing one is passionate about. Is only a matter of time till they rise to top and clearly become better than the average.
I am optimistic for many peoples personal successes in the future community and I look forward to hearing any or many success stories in the near future. Stay focused, stay positive and letās grow on, togther into the futureā¦
Just .2 in todayās market probably now worth .1ā¦
