"Jar-Tech" THCa Diamonds

I tried to search long before typing this but couple questions . So after I bho material and do my normal thing to make crystals , then after they form do I use pentane (how much ) and redissolve , freezer and room temp purge then cap again ? Sorry I’m new to diamonds not extraction and I am very interested in doing things the right way . Again thanks for the help if i can repay some how I would love to

You can use pentane, heptane, or terpene/solvent blend as well. But always use proper conditions for whichever solvent will be used please! Pour off already formed terp layer then redilute diamonds into solvent at room temp or just under solvent bp until you don’t see any more dissolution. You should then be saturated enough to allow for purging off to around 20-30% solvent leftover & be able to acheive continuous growth this way by stacking the lattice like a iceberg.

lol ah your fist one and know it all… nice lol curious what your terpene content in the biomass threshold might be?

Just saw you had this custom Smart glass piece made. Love it!

I know I’m a little late to the conversation and I haven’t gotten to read this whole thread yet but I’m working on it.
There’s a lot of excellent information here to read and learn a thing about the extraction process..
Over the past few weeks I managed to get a small vacuum column, although I had to do a couple upgrades to it.. Ball valves, vacuum gauge, sight glass, just little things like that..
I also managed to get a vacuum chamber with a tempered glass lid, I went with the glass lid because I don’t know what the solvent will do to the plastic lid …
I haven’t used any of it yet because I have to do more reading on the subject so nothing goes boom.
Other than that, I’m just saying hello and I’m looking forward to learning a thing or 10 from you all.
Thanks for letting me in the door and I look forward to to reading what you are all doing with your hobby..
Here’s a few pics of what I have so far and my first victim is still in the SIP, “Sub Irrigation Planter”
The last pic is just a little look inside the Bud Bunker, have a wonderful day my friends..

You can get a closed loop for pennies on the dollar…

I just found this group and joined yesterday.
I’ve done some open blast in the past, that’s why I have a 6" tube in the box, but everything else wasn’t as expensive I thought it would be.
I’ve also noticed that there’s a lot of different vendors here that I’ll be looking into in the future.
For now I’m here to educate myself and make my experience with this as safe and enjoyable as possible..

Step one: Never use that setup where you have it. Open blasting, if you must, should be done outdoors with a lot of thought being given to avoiding potential ignition risks.

Looks like you intend to blast it into a jacketed base? Purging will be safe like that, outdoors, but remember to keep the water heater and pump far away from the base, best if separated by a wall, again with careful thought given to which way the wind is going to carry your evaporating butane vapor.

Step Two: Your solvent needs to be as cold as possible, cooling cans that far can be risky so it’s best to have a small sealed pressure vessel you can bury in dry ice, vacuum the atmosphere out with your pump, and then add the amount of solvent you want to run to that tank first. You’ll want at minimum 5lbs of solvent for every lb of material, but a lot of us prefer about 8:1 when running nice and cold.

Step Three: Upgrade to this. Figure out how to repurpose your existing hardware as a filtration column, get your hands on a few lids, reducers, fittings, hoses, pipe mounts and unistrut and mount the columns of the new system to a temporary structure to make it less top heavy. You can build yourself a nice tee stand out of 2x4s that still allows your collection to sit on the ground while supporting your columns.

I would never try to blast in my house but I completely understand what you’re saying.
Also the can on the top is empty with a hole in the bottom so I don’t grab the wrong one, i just stuck it together for the pic..
As far as chilling my solvent, I was thinking about using an old pressure cooker that I have, I was thinking about sinking it in the ground up in the back of my property… Should be safe and far enough from everything just in case of a misstep…
I have a place outside that I used when I did a little open blasting, I can set up, get it going and walk away. I think that would be a little safer than standing around it when it’s charged.
I still have a lot of homework to do and if I told you I wasn’t nervous about it I would be lying to you…
Thanks for the info and I’ll be doing a lot more reading before I do what I’m planning.

I took your advice on the upgrade but due to the budget of my hobbies I had to stay with the 1.5".
I’ll be sure to let you know how it turns out once the cure is done on my first victim.
If all else fails, at least it’ll make a nice lamp.. I couldn’t make up my mind on the size so i got a 18" and a 12" and who knows maybe a few more things and just make it a real closed loop.
Anyway thanks for the advice..

Make sure you buy life insurance before starting. Read the terms carefully to make sure you qualify when it blows.

Based on the electrical outlet, I would say you are state-side and should get a job at an LP so you can learn some basics. This whole rig screams 2012, and you’ll kill yourself.

You missed the intrinsically safe killswitch, Sir.

Once again I would never try to blast in my house, I have a place outside that is away from everything..
I know I’m not a professional person but I’m not a stupid person either, but thanks for the advice…
