Isomerization of Co2 extracted Crude

I hear you, and it could be the CO2, but I’d put my money on something they have in common between the extractor and the boiling flask… because it happens to folks using EtOH and Hydrocarbon feedstocks as well.

Doesn’t everybody winterize their CO2 oil before distillation?

What pH is your etoh?

Hey, I’d like to share a little experiment here I did with pH. [20180404_114312] Etoh was freshly distilled in a solvent head.I then collected 2ml of sample. [20180404_114418] Next three drops of litmus indicator were dropped into the vial. It was then capped and shaken. [20180404_114608] The Etoh displayed a low pH. My findings from this: pH will carry over when refining solvents. With all this pH talk going around its something to consider.

maybe we should start with your post extractor cleanup tek.

eg are you using cbleach in your boiling flask? are you using an appropriate source for your activated carbon?

Reading test results

Theres a chance that the acid activated carbon is making it to your boiling flask, which would cause isomerization and read as lower potency
