Iso Star Workstation for varian CP3800

Be mindful of your temps with this. I’m sure you already know that, but some of the machines are NOT designed for Hydrogen and will get hot and have little flash offs which are annoying and could get scary depending on what else was going on nearby.

I also like to remind myself that FID uses the gas but other things do not. So it comes out the other end and needs somewhere to go safely. This is the case with both gasses, but for different reasons.

Doing all this for a hobby. <3 Love it. I do so much of my work now because I love it, not because anyone asks me to do it or my business needs it.

Yes, haha. Another project in the list is venting the MS forepump exhaust outside as well as lab venting to avoid any H2 buildup.

This unit can indeed run H2, there is documentation detailing the usage of it. I’ll probably have to run the unit for a week straight before I even turn on the source, to see if i can get a clean background after some equilibriation and pump out.

I am considering setting up my HPLC with a small fraction collection system, so I can send a whole peak to the MS when I am unsure of what a peak is if working with interesting samples.
