Hey, we’re blending 47% badder, 6% Terps and 47% disty and we’re noticing the blend is a bit cloudy. We’re thinking it’s either from the lipids in the badder or from the micro THCa crystals in the badder. I know we can decarb the THCa diamonds to clear that up but if it’s not THCa causing the cloudiness, what could we do? Winterize the badder and remove the solvent???
What’s the end goal here? The short answer here is No. The badder will certainly have fats and waxes that will cause your final product to be opaque. Even with a solid decarbing step, you’ll find that once it returns to room temp it will still be cloudy.
Winterizing and decarb will yield a clear product, but at that point your “badder” is no longer badder and instead just a “full spectrum” extract that is vapable.
Not really. You CAN, but that’s the exception, not the norm. As always, it’s strain dependent and it matters what CRC you use to remove said fats and waxes, solvent ratio and temp, etc. . Regardless, if you have fats and waxes (which are usually heavy in badders), you wont have a clear product after decarbing and letting it get to room temp. It’s only miscible at high temps. “lol”
