IRC: #Future4200 on Rizon.net

We now have a channel on Rizon.net - #Future4200

I want to get on Rizon, where do I start?
If you’re new to the world of the IRC then you can start by using Mibbit’s or Rizon’s webchat and enter #Future4200 for the channel.
This is a simple webchat that’ll get the job done and has some neat features along with it.

I have my own client, how do I connect to Rizon?
In the case that you use a client like mIRC, irssi, or XChat…
Connect to irc.rizon.net using ports 6660-6670 and 7000 for standard connections, or 6697/9999 for SSL connections.

Why IRC?
We chose IRC for it’s low bandwidth requirements and ease of use for public discussion. It is recommended to use SSL ports which will secure messages between you and Rizon.

Why Rizon, and not future4200.com hosted?
Run by nearly 100 staff members over 20 worldwide servers for over 15 years, Rizon provides a strong and reliable base. In addition, Rizon takes free speech very seriously and avoids any censorship.

Does anyone have input on other Open Source(free as in freedom) protocols which will facilitate large group chats that might work better than IRC?

See you there!
