Is it possible to clean glassware that has been contaminated by myclo?
Will this journal entry work on the pesticide Chlorfenapyr?
Nope.
Attempted this without a reactor with some success, huge loss of yeild though. Is there any cheap alternatives to reactors? We are a small operation that doesn’t have room for a 50 liter reactor. Was able to pull myclo out, was at 3x the limit reduced to 0ppb. I did use the same glass with minor cleaning so I’m guessing contamination isn’t a huge issue at these low of numbers? Any info that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Is it a saline wash after chromo to buffer?
Yes that would be it. You can get a 6L sep funnel. You should be losing more material during chromatography than extraction.
Got the 6L sep funnel. The idea of hand shaking 6 liter batches for 60 liters 3x seems unrealistic unless your some sort of super human. There was issues with distillate being stuck in the mixing buckets that were I think I lost most of it. I think it stuck because the solvent evaporated while mixing since it wasn’t in a closed reactor.
Because the concentration is relatively high for these LLEs, make sure to keep the sep funnel cap clean between washes. They can get stuck.
Use the fermentasaurus and an overhead lab stirrer from Amazon
Do you have a link to the overhead stirrer? Do I need one that is spark proof for the pentane?
Ah, probably want a spark proof alternative. Otherwise do everything real chilly, but I don’t wanna give you unsafe advice.
Okay. Looks like it could certainly work. If I could trap the vapors with a lid I could probably get away without spark proof.
Cheap spark proof is a air pressure drill
And a small compressor
Is it necessary to distill prior to doing the sulfur remediation, in your experience? We have a very large sulfur remediation project upcoming, and it would save us a lot of time if we could do the remediation on the crude. I get that it could be harder to detect the color change in the copper powder, in crude rather than distillate.
Ill try that. Should any sized drill be enough to move the 20 L?
Nope! Granted, there are some thioterpenes that may also be removed, but it works in solutions of crude.
You definitely want a non-sparking motor to stir large volumes of room temperature pentane! BEWARE!
The other reason I was concerned about this, is a much bigger deal. We’ve noticed that everytime we have distilled crude which had heavy sulfur contamination, we get extremely low thc results in the final product. Have you noticed this?
