So I’ve read this huge thread a couple times but it seems the magisil is eating up a lot of people’s product so I’m wondering if i could just use t5 to make it a nice yellow. I’m running -20 solvents thinking of going

De
T5
De
what do you guys think?

Also what is the best filter material/product # ratio?

Don’t forget the silica60…if your running old trim… Go fast for yellow, slow for clear sounds like the word from the pros

I havent gotten water clear with t5 yet. Weather its fast or slow.
I do yet pretty light yellow. As for magsil eating product i havent seen that

I’m using nug. It comes out a dark amber so I’m hoping just one filter would be enough. Plus each different type of filter near me is 180-250 the magisil is over 300 so I’m trying to save some money.

Do you use de or Celite or is it not even needed?

How much filter material are you using per run?

And have you tried multiple runs per filter?

You need to hit up @Killa12345. Save some $ on media

If u stage ur filters w plates, quiet a few…I hear a shorty column will do the trick

Well i use a 19×3 material column.
They say celite flows beter than de. I have only tried celite and it slows my flow substantially.

T5 and silica 60 should get a nice light yellow,

If your not worried about pesticides magnesol xl is a cheap replacement for magsil pr.
I have my filter attached to my material column. I have tried multiple pushes with one filter but i didnt get the water clear results, at the time i thought it was channeling. Now im not so sure…
I would do 1 push per filter. Change it out.

I have used a lot of different lots of different mixtures of different amounts of powders…

What size is you material column. And what is you desired end result

I’m using a 48x6 column with on average 10# of product in it. I would just like my stuff to come out a nice yellow right now it’s amber. Silca 60 is super expensive to get local here so I was hoping to use a single powder since I wasn’t trying to achieve clear.

I was also thinking of attaching my filter to my recovery pot. Do find it’s better to attach to the material column?

@Dred_pirate gave some mixtures for that size column,

I think 2.5 cups t5 should work. Not sure on a single powder.
I have nvr tried 1, each powders grabs something different.

@BG305 might be able to help you also.

I would attach to dewax column or the last column you use. .
I think bg305 has a separate set of filters after everything. But im not 100% on that

I would go about 250-300g of t5 for each kilo of material. If you are using about 4600g ~. Give about a kilo ~ of t5. Seems like a lot. But a 10lb run is a pretty big run for this. Maybe use less. 600g of t5 and work up from there. Find the sweet spot for the color you desire. Are you running DE/celite if you have it available?

Dude if this room temp thing works out i will save over 14k a yr in ice and acetone. But im not counting on it, for some reason im thinking i gonna grab a bunch of fat compared to how i run now.

I bet yields will be fantastic

I’m not able to get celite in store so I’m going to try de. Do you recommend it?

I’m not even sure if t5 is the best single powder to use it just seemed like on of the most used ones.

I seen someone mention something about just using b80 I think. I’m trying to find it again.

If I were to add silica60 should I add 25%

@BG305 uses, food grade de, t5 and silica 60 and has great results

The trick is slow when u open the valve to dump through the filters and get them wet…then pass through fast once wet or the yellow will catch up kinda like chromotagraphy…from what ive seen

I put a sight glass on it to view as i went, my last batch look clear in the sight, but slightly yellow in the pour
