Too bad they didn’t test any older 3c stuff, or the THCa flower

You guys really hit the nail on the head. If a testing laboratory doesn’t have a method with high resolution, or a way to detect the THC isomers more precisely, the d9 percentages can be obfuscated or added as part of the larger d8 peak during analysis:

In some cases it seems incentivized to report d9 results at a lower resolution, to ensure it detects as unidentifiable or ND. What is the solution? Is there a solution?

Thanks, exactly.

The solution is requiring laboratories to demonstrate suitable baseline resolution between cannabinoids. Even requiring D9 and D8 to be resolved from one another leads people to realizing the unknowns are present.

Some unknowns in those chromatograms are now known, but there are others we need standards for.
