Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I’ve never actually seen how people wrap hash in cellophane — only the finished product. How is it usually done? What’s the proper way to do it?
Depends on the cellophane. They have sheets they have pocket bags that seal. Traditional methods use sheets folded in half and make a pocket inside in the middle similar to as you would for rosin with parchment, then fold back the formed hash brick til the sheet forms a closed seal. It also helps to tuck in your putter flaps as this ensures a true seal to form and can be your best bet for keeping oxidation from happening and a better chance of homogenization of the compounds creating a better texture during a curing process or for final packaging.
For bags I’d fill them 85-90% full or so and then fold back the seal and form the loaf/brick out.
If in a pinch I’d recommend Reynolds’s oven bags as they’re a substitute that is heat resistant and can endure cold temps without becoming fragile. Widely used in the cannabis industry already as well from packaging bulk to freezing flower. It hasn’t shown any certainty of leaching as I have seen in certain ptfe sheets and it’s a viable product economically speaking comparatively.
Im waiting for him:-)
I should make a tread about this ![]()

Burn it if it smells like paper burning your good
Bags are filled with a spoon and a chopstick
Chopsticks to open the corners and then a spoon to fill the kief pressing every 4 spoons of kief ( frigin labor) once the kief is in wich seems impossible when you start
Corners are pushed back in from the outside and transparent office tape is used to seal it shut if pressing is needed with a needle holes are poked that’s the basic version
A sticker is placed on each bar and 10 are wrapped together to make a kg
Thanks a lot for such a detailed explanation really appreciate it!
That’s exactly the kind of info I was looking for.
I have two questions if you don’t mind
-
If the hash is already pressed into 100g bricks, can it still be wrapped in cellophane afterwards ?
-
How to choose the right type of cellophane for this any specific keywords or type to search for (food grade etc.)?
Also, this topic definitely deserves its own post maybe even with some pictures or a short video showing the whole process:-)
