Trusted client gave us false paperwork now there is pyrethrins at low levels in 20 liters of distillit anyone know the best way to remediate it
UV will degrade it
I’ve had success with Flash Chromatography, you will use up a bunch of solvents depending on you cosolvent flush…
Getting a system permitted was an easy thing but keeping up with solvent recovery and making sure the mixtures were still up to levels…
We figured out specific gravity of the mixture we used for the flush to figure out how to get the mixture back to it’s % ratio…
But it degrading would still leave traces of it or just kill it off completely
Look into alkaline hydrolysis and uv degredation (photolysis)
If you need further assistance many of us can offer consult services for remediation.
there’s the good shotgun approach, LLE to an alkaline, filter through activated alumina and magisil, distill, repeat filtration through the media, lle again, second pass, filter and lle again send for testing. process worked for us. anytime we do pesticide remediation we use dedicated glassware and equipment just in case. don’t skimp on the magisil. and God help you if remediating bifenthrin.
I have no problem paying for a consult if your sure it will remove the pyrethrins
Also going to try and filtering threw florisil pr was wounder if using hexane instead of heptane would be ok
Why use hexane instead
For one hexane is not as bad as heptane and 2nd I have hexane and not heptane
