Hello guys
How can you know your % what you got in your convertion when you make it , do you send it to a lab Or do you have a method doing it if so what method
Send it to a lab. Gc-fid
Or buy a gc-fid but expect to pay at least 5k
Smoke it.
TLC can be quite informative in the right hands.
…but if you’d done your homework you’d know that.
XD someone else did the TLC homework for us. Ah that’s a missing suspect
TLC for cannabinoids using chloroform as both the extraction solvent and mobile phase is the easiest imo, not need to complicate the process with a convoluted solvent system.
TLC will give you a good understanding, what is going on.
If you are just interested in knowing when all/most CBD is converted, the BEAM Test will be the easiest method.
you mind touching on some of these questions here?
I’ve been wanting a good public SOP
Ever heard of the beam test? It’s simple enough to see very quickly if any CBD is remaining.

You’re the best, N.
This is a CBD standard vs a D9 standard solution I compared with @AlexSiegel pigment detector. TLC is obviously quite reliable, but I thought this was interesting! 200-300 nm seems distinct.
The Pigment Tracker is a bit better for fluorescence than absorbance but I think @Photon_noir is going to help design a 2 in 1 instrument that can do both
You bet I will!
