If you’re in Maine we process cannabis plant material to distillate all day long at our lab, licence to license at $5 per gram produced for Maine Caregivers. We have a 10 lb minimum of plant material to process. No cuts, no conversations, just raw, clean, pure distillate.

So 1l of cbd distillate cost 5k (5.00 per gram (your cost to produce) at 1000g? 1l of cbd distillate sells all day long on here for under 500. Isolate is 400ish.
Thc distillate is selling for 6500/L (6.50/g). Its not cost effective to drop off 100lbs biomass, and pay 5.00 per g of distillate.

Do the math and run the numbers.
Please keep in mind I said cannabis and nothing about running hemp for CBD. We currently have tons of hemp biomass from our farm so no need to run hemp from other farms.
Doing the math… 100 lbs of cannabis nets roughly 2.5 - 3 liters of cannabis distillate… (Depending on quality of starting plant material)
Converting to Distillate
3 * $6,500 = $19,500
2.5 * $6,500 = $16,250
Vs
Selling as Trim
100 lbs * $150 per lb (figuring high on trim prices, can usually get for around $100 a lb if you look around) = $10,000 - $15,000
And as we both know Distillate sells way faster and easier than trim since it is a finished and marketable product and if you load your own vape cartridges or put it into edibles, topicals or tinctures and sell retail, you will net a lot more than $19,500 that way.
So still of the opinion that converting trim to Cannabis Distillate is the way to go. Please point out any errors if I am missing something. Always happy to receive constructive criticism that improves my knowledge base and appreciate the input.

If the processing fee is too high, we also offer 50/50 splits on oil produced. And I just used Demontrich’s numbers of $6500. We don’t sell our cannabis distillate oil that cheap.
