You can write your own PR blurb and have Yahoo blast it for free out on the interwebs. Write anything you want and it’s dated proof of anything you want. If you want to go a step further, archive the link at any of the wayback machine sites like archive.is or whatever

It does work, make sure you can see it thru the envelope. Friend of mine won a court case against dta clothing with a poor mans trademark.

And enforcing it is simple too.
It’s cheaper to hire a goon than a… well lawyers are goons too,but it’s cheaper to hire a tough guy than a soft guy

I’m at the stage I know I’d win cases from brands trying for my trademark but still try to communicate and relate and find a breaking bread level before I send off an inquiry to an attorney. We miss all the opportunities we don’t try for. So if anyone is trying to taste something you lay claim to, just try to expand your table and feed more.
The real opportunities are in adding to your table for brunch or dinner than downsizing them.

The only way to do a trademark is filing through USPTO. “Poor mans” trademark is not a thing. You can prove that you have some ownership of a trademark just by using it in commerce but a trademark is going to be much cheaper in the long run.

Or you just bite the bullet, and pay to be incorporated into an LLC. That way it’s an official business ready for work with procuring and selling glassware/peripherals.

I’ve been doing this for 20 yrs…you have piece mail dated before the copiers come out by mailing it to urself and the date post mark is proof enough. You can’t open the package
