The medical programs have been gutted by Adult use programs. I wonder if they will be resurrected or if everyone will just wait for broader reforms.

I think it’s a process. Like us in Florida still only have a medical program. I think our next step will be adult use. States that don’t have any legal cannabis will first work to legalize medical then go to adult use.

I think it’s all time and a process. Sucks for all the people in my generation that had to really deal with the strictest cannabis laws.

I think prohibition will still happen. We have dry counties still for alcohol nearly 100 years after alcohol prohibition ended. History likes to repeat itself

WA allows people to test to med specifications or for rec exclusively, I’m curious how this would work for someone that only makes rec products/both types

Now that they’ve carved out the medical rescheduling I’d bet nothing else will happen except maybe a lot of can-kicking after the June meeting then it’ll get totally swept under the rug.

Medical is all Trump talked about when signing the EO, they don’t care about tax relief or anything for rec use companies.

This reminds me of how it felt after rec passed in California. Lots of exuberant IG posts and excitement but the fine print tells a different story. I’ve already seen a few people celebrating “280E day” and had to burst their bubble.

@pdxcanna Yea it’ll be interesting to see how the rec/medical programs try to adapt. I’ve heard a few times that the move to schedule 3 could potentially bring more strict prescription and pharmacy/dispensary guidelines so some expensive changes could be coming to med programs. Could turn medical into more of a “white coat” environment than it currently is which govt might consider a good thing but would be bad from a patient/provider standpoint.

100%, the fda now controls it and youll need to get a license through them for it to be considered medical at least on a federal level.

States might give you the write offs if youre in their medical program but state tax is a lot less than federal tax and even then I bet the states jump on board with requiring an FDA license for it to be schedule 3 due to not wanting to loose tax revenue.

Idk why anyone would think someone in hemp is gonna wanna jump into this shit show

Especially when theres the possibility of 1% thc on the horizon for hemp because of what HIFA is doing.

There already is for sure.. there are a ton of municipalities in NY/NJ that have banned every category of cannabis consumption / cultivation / production / sale. I assume every state with legal rec has this problem, too? Or is it just us retards in the Northeast..

I haven’t seen any in Florida and at universal in the smoking section. No one said anything with the blunts we were smoking. :man_shrugging:t3:

New Mexico banned most restrictive local zoning restrictions

Illinois had to throw the state police something to make them happy after legalization, so they made it a law that you get a $200 ticket for smoking in your car. That implies while driving, but they also get to write the ticket when the car is parked. They like hotel parking lots, because people aren’t supposed to smoke in their rooms. I think our own @thumper talked about getting one.

How soon would someone be able to have a federally legal recognized prescription based on all of this? Does this mean we need a cannabis company with FDA approval to release a product line after FDA approval, or does there need to be a specific THC based drug that is FDA approved to be able to be prescribed by a Doctor for this to be a federally legal prescription?

I mean in this context. Someone goes into a job for a drug test and the drug testing company “only follows federal law”. They test positive for THC, what would need to happen from this point forward to make it that the subject being tested could have something to show the testing organization that they are testing positive for THC because they have a federally legal prescription that would lead to them testing positive for THC?

Nearly every state yes - California notably as a huge % of municipalities that still ban dispos, one of the (many) reasons why their illicit market still reigns supreme

It’s completely cock-blocked the roll out of rec here.. there’s so few areas that allow for cultivation / manufacture and in the ones that do allow it, there’s not nearly enough property in the zones available.

Bout to write to Louis CK see if he can fast track cbd fda approval or what he can do b4 nov.

looks like the fees to register your medical facility with the DEA is like 4k for a medical processor. seems straightforward. our accountants are on it.
