Help IDing critter

Buddy sent me this picture this morning asking if I could ID.

I can’t.

He said he’d get back with higher magnification tomorrow.

Anyone recognize them?

Difference in brix levels possibly? Closest to point of entry? It won’t be long before they’re everywhere. I’d recommend PureCrop1 or other oil-based sprays while he can, followed by a release of predators.

If it’s truly isolated to 30 of 400 plants, it may be worth killing them now to save the others. He’ll want to check the undersides of leaves on everything else to be sure, and still continue to spray as well.

It looks like some kind of aphids.
Stung and miellat in Buds will cause a lot of bud rot.

It was never an issue at my place. Lately with some Cali strains (as called by breeder anyway) it happens. Lady bug larvae are good ipm.

Aphids. We usually get isolated breakouts this time of year. They don’t seem to divide and conquer compared to other pests. PyGanic 5.0 is a great contact killer for these.

Thanks all!!

Aphids certainly seems like the consensus here. Including cultivator…

Thank you. I was thinking the same once I saw one moving.

Not sure if there are more pics incoming or not.

Looks like ut still in the earlier part of the flowering stage.
If the workers are up for it, i would have them go thru with sponges and a bucket of hypochlorous acid/water solution (around 200ppm).
Have the workers take the sponges and start going up the branches from the base. After u get alot off mechanically, then go thru and spray pyganic.
Repeat the sponge and spray every 3 or 4 days, until u get significant preflowers showing.
That should get u thru flower, if it keeps going, just cull the plants and maybe the next 2 touching the infected lot.
If u want a companion ot detecter plant, marigolds are usually good. Aphids love those and will typically attach to those plants first. So having a couple in the garden can either bring them in or pull them away from ur plants

I didn’t see any of the little black bits. The objects in the photo are dead bugs that were easily wiped off. There were some crawlers. I had a pretty big gap between sprays and probably killed most of them a few days ago. I quarantined those plants and sprayed the hell out everything. I’ll do it again tomorrow, too.

Sap suckers like aphids will always tell you the sweetest plants in the garden. They like strains with fruit in the name.

With as many as are there, I would defoliate to get some off before any spray or treatment. Soap suds are instant death and easy to massage around the plant, but have to be washed off.

Aphids are generally pretty easy to kill by chemical means. If you go that route and happen to use hotshot no pest strips, dont have a dog in the building, as they make some dogs very sick.

It’s either aphids or spider mites.

Hit them with pyganic it will kill them on contact. They multiply quick. Theyre poo called honeydew attracts sooty black mold, once they get to that point the weed is worthless. Pyganic or evergreen pro 60-6, Annihilates them. Just make sure you can legally use it. Some states allow it some dont.

Lady bugs will handle it quickly, about $60 from your local feed or hydro store will get about 6000 of them , enough for a 20x100 gh.

Thanks @all!!

Aphid ID confirmed.

It was the “nothing is moving” so “must be eggs” that confused the issue.
