So right now I’m snipping each bud into vacuum seal bag. When the bag is about 3/4 filled I put it in the freezer open. After 2 hours I’ll seal the bag and let it freeze. But I keep getting frost inside the bag. It’s been working fine wash’s good. I was wondering if that matters or if there a way to not frost inside.

No vacuum seal bags, do NOT stuff it tight because you’re gonna make it too slow to freeze all the way to the middle and it’ll rot. Use turkey bags. 3/4 full or less, frost is not a worry unless you’re gonna keep it in the freezer for years and years. Fluff the contents of the bag every few hours if possible to keep it from freezing as a big giant mass.

Dew point is gas to liquid which would destroy the quality. Frost point is skipping the liquid phase to ice so there would be no thawing so, the frost inside would have no or a minimal effect on the quality.

Yes, frost has little effect if handled properly. Now if you wanted to avoid it altogether, how would you go about it?

Harvest it and put it in the freeze dryer right away, but thats unrealistic. How would you remove all the moisture from the bag while keeping the trichomes in tack? pump nitrogen in the bag before freezing or put dry ice in the bag?

A little frost inside the bag isn’t necessarily a problem by itself. I’d be more concerned about repeated temperature swings or partial thawing, since that can move moisture around and affect the material.
It sounds like some moisture is condensing inside before everything is fully frozen. If the washes are still coming out clean and the material isn’t thawing and refreezing, I probably wouldn’t treat a small amount of frost as a major issue.
Have you noticed any difference in wash quality or yield between the bags with more frost and the ones with less?
I’ve noticed the same thing before, so really want to know what others have experienced. Interested to see whether that frost actually affects the final product or if it’s mostly a cosmetic issue.

As a few mentioned also, not packing the bags and not vacuum sealing them slightly improved both extraction method’s product. (who doesn’t love cutting out extra steps for a better result?)
I can’t see how frost inside the bags of fresh frozen could harm a wash.
