I like rye the most followed by milo then oats
Wbs is dirty and not even cheap
Corn is too big
Millet seems nice but was expensive and harder to find for me

Hey @DiNKLB3RG, have you ever done any work with endophytes? This is actually where my new interest is turning while my grain bags are growing.
As a matter of fact has anyone on here done any work or notable research into endophytes?
Also, day two after inoculation and stoked my bags are showing solid growth. So excited to see Reishi grow

Actually no. I havenāt
Super fascinating sector of the fungal kingdom, when so many species have not been studied just yet, it is believed it is due to them living internally in plants. This amazing video of a someone studying endophytes from sea flora is where my interest began to peak. Then I can not remember the read I did, but it was about the study of fungi and how it helped rejuvenate plant life in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina
Gary Strobel has studied endophytes for 20 years now.

Wow, I am super stoked to see some of my threads reviving. I am actually about to get my chance to sit down and research soon. Iāll be looking into him! Thank you
Well cheerios works without pcing or moisture added just shoot it and watch them turn white. Imo rye grain seems to take longer then millet. I only soak any of it till it stops absorbing water i do like 5 bags at a time so I use a big pot half full when it expands and grain reaches the top its usally done i come and add little water a bit time from time to keep it right above the grain then i dump it in a strainer and immediately bag it wet seal it twice and pc it for hour 15 mins. When mixing to sub after pins come i fruit open air no lid never have. I also went to lowes got stainless steel rod cut it to tub lenth and suspend it over the tub so all sides grow if it breaks no worries itll grow backā¦bigger the cake more rods make sure u wipe rods down before inserted. If you happen to think of anything you want shot ill sure try it for the name of science.
