First they were “Extracts Academy,” then they rebranded to “Extraction Academy,” but no matter what name they slapped on it, it was the same garbage operation run by the same trash people.
They overpromised, underdelivered, and churned out students who were more confused than when they walked in. Safety standards? Lacking. Real industry knowledge? Nonexistent. Integrity? Please. This was a cash grab wrapped in a fake “education” bow.
The cannabis industry doesn’t need wannabe gurus running clown colleges for extraction.
If they’re gone for good, then good riddance. May this serve as a warning: a shiny website and loud marketing do not make a school legit. Do your homework before you hand over your money — or you’ll end up with nothing but regret, just like their so-called graduates.
i dont have experience with commercial extraction, im on the grow side of things…but i would venture to guess that in most cases, extraction companies would get a better long term employee by choosing someone who’s done a few decent a/b runs on san pedro or a few good mimosa extractions who is ready to learn and willing to be relegated to the bitch work for awhile, vs hiring someone who thought it would be a good idea to pay for extraction school. just an uneducated guess tho.
Honestly, this is why I tell people to come to us first, we don’t charge anything for consultations and we have a free University for extraction and post processing, basically a online “textbook”. Learn as much as you can for free, and that baseline knowledge you did not have to pay for can help you determine if a paid education service is worth its weight in salt. At least how we see it is we build the relationship through education, and in turn the folks we help educate will want to come to us for equipment and solvents. So yes, there is something in it for us, but we are up front about it.
