Yeah so the FDA doesn’t care about your lame ass certifications the FDA doesn’t certify anything. I know one of you real smart guys will say the FDA has a registry and yeah your business has to register with the FDA but they’re not gonna look at your little lame certification and say oh goodness you’ve been a good person we’re not gonna audit you.
If you’re going to buy product from somebody that claims to have produced it in a GMP certified facility don’t take their word for it and don’t give any credence to their lame ass certification do your due diligence and perform a GMP audit anytime you’re considering working with a new vendor.
We are a nutraceutical and Ag company. We are cGMP, UL and FDA registered. We have an audit coming up. Even though it’s as simple as printing out forms from our ERP system, it’s very stressful and we have to make sure employees handle data correctly on a daily basis. I wouldn’t discount the effort that goes into being GMP compliant because some companies take it very seriously.
GMP compliant and GMP certified are two different things. We are NSF cGMP certified and you can check the registry on their website to verify any facility that they audit. The process is intense and takes a long time. I honestly would only work with facility that are third party audited and certified just because you never know whats going on in a facility that isn’t certified.
Getting a 3rd party audit for cGMP compliance to a legitimate QMS / training / etc… is the standard. The FDA does not care about a certification, but having an audit from a 3rd party does indicate that you have made strides in the right direction. https://www.compliancebydesigns.com/
