GLG certification

I mostly associate with old boys and can’t wait till I fall in that category.

I got a kid, soon 2, and make dad jokes constantly. Well on my way

I synthesized CBO (cannabiorcinol) in ‘87 or ‘88, does that count?

My next brush with the Future was in 2010 when I discovered GrayWolf’s drawings for a basic scCO2 extractor.

I really got my start in 2015 with a parallel version of GW’s butane Terpenator design.

Over 10,000 people have downloaded the free GLGc handbook since we started. That’s 10,000 people not making basic mistakes like this one.

The dumbest saying that I hear all the time in this industry. Was it just me that was raised in the church and was taught that greed was a sin and the root of all evil is the pursuit/love of money? Eh, maybe I just don’t care about money enough but there are many necessary things in this world that require money to run and don’t make money back. Altruism gives me a better feeling than winning a scratch-off lottery ticket. Money is not the point of life and to make statements like this, it’s no wonder the economy will never stabilize. Lol, my broke-ass rant is now over…

I think certification is a good thing. Training and accountability are important in technical trades. Any technical trade.

My old boss used to say that all the time. Then he refused to take on what was going to be the next big thing and scoffed in the face of 3 different things that would (not could) have made him a multi millionaire.

That thinking just keeps you broke in the long run to me.

Owners will complain about pennies when they leave millions on the table.

Shit tons of trim absolutely everywhere 8 years ago? ‘Bro we should get into extracts, they’re gonna be big’

“OH YOU JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS WORKS”

I understand I don’t have to have my wife pay my way like he does now…but…I’m still waiting to see when I understand how things work. I’m eagerly awaiting that day.

Hi im Andrew who are you? Do we know each other? Who do you work for? I work for myself or businesses that I own and founded.

I assume you dont work for free no matter how altruistic you think you are. If you work for free, more power to you - I would imagine youre pretty booked. The certification boards and inspectors don’t work for free, just like processors and retailers don’t work for free. No lifers i know are doing it for free.

I’ve been in this industry my whole adult life. The altruistic players are usually the greenhorns pushing the bro-science and getting pushed around by some bigger fish.

I’ll double down and say any good idea or business plan will have monetary value. If your ideas are bunk so is your value

There’s a big difference between “dumb idea that will never be able to make money” and “idea that isn’t gonna make me money today” … And plenty of people who don’t understand that difference.

The cannabis business mimics the humate industry in a lot of ways. I can sell a gallon to a small to medium size cannabis grower for a payday today or I can sell a container load to the EU that takes 3 months. You get used to fast money and instant gratification, but the big payoff comes when you spend time developing opportunities.

I’d rather be bona fide instead of certified any ol day.

Hi Andrew, I’m Ross. I don’t know you or anyone else here really. Also not trying to talk trash, I just really dislike that saying and wanted to say so because it’s been everywhere lately. Nothing against you personally, you didn’t coin the phrase.

I’m definitely not working for free or proclaiming to be wholly altruistic, although I would say that I’m definitely not motivated by money and give as much time, money, and knowledge for free as I can. A little kindness given can change lives for the better more often than a little money, at least in my humble opinion.

I got into the industry because of my love for the plant and all that it can do. I wanted to learn how and why. I’m not selling products, it’s more R&D to further our collective understanding of the medicinal applications for cannabis. My bills are paid but that’s about it and I’m ok with that lifestyle.

Nice to meet you Andrew.

When I started here, it was cloak and dagger hood rat trappin.

I can give people my signal/business number and talk about things using my real name now once we are introduced. I really like the transparency and how people can discuss things out in the open about the cannabis business now.

It’s certainly different now. For better or worse
