That’s a good lookin goat. Boer ?
Thanks! And yes. 14 days old lol
Nice we have oberhasli’s. 4 babies made it this year.
Rule #17 of scamming if caught and can’t make right go afk and don’t reply ever. Act as if you didn’t see anything . @anon57681908 nice work
Got any methods for sale fam
As someone w no skin in the hemp game I would do business with a verified hemp slanger then anon verified hemp slanger. I may misunderstand the process but isn’t there a verified name and entity behind it with a license? It’s not the end all be all but it’s better then an internet rando.
Verified Hemp Slanger status rids the forum of a lot of unsolicited spam, which is nice.
I have a buddy that blessed me with some seeds. They are hash dumping strains so I hear… If anyone wants some I can point you in the right direction
those all sound awesome @Apothecary36 whats the deal with em?
must give left toe & type 7 facility access
No really but a few of those do peak the eye
Yes 7,000$ up front for scheming/scam methods. Guarantee to work.
New folks here don’t understand the night and day difference the verification process had on CBD spammers.
You don’t have a triploid, that’s a whorled phyllotaxy (a common mutation). And you’d be best off to just cull it now, because they never turn out to be worth keeping. Most mutations like that aren’t worth keeping.
My favorite ‘surprise’ is the double-seedling (dual sprout) from one seed. It’s a seed twofer. But then one out grows the other and I tend to cull the weakling.
If you did have a triploid I wouldn’t consider that a good thing. Triploids are generally lower quality, unless they were worked well. To get a triploid (3 sets of chromosomes) you cross a diploid (2 sets of chromosomes) with tetraploid (4 sets of chromosomes). But making a true tetraploid isn’t easy, because often the whole plant doesn’t become a tetraploid, and ‘triploid seeds’ can produce diploids and triploids (inconsistent ploidy).
To make a tetraploid a grower must apply a mutagen to convert the natural diploid to a tetraploid. The only real benefit to triploids is they generally are sterile, so they won’t create seed (like a seedless watermelon).
Tetraploids may be worth working with, but so far the literature hasn’t shown consistent benefits (some studies find no benefits). Another concern is reversion of a tetraploid back to diploid. That’s not to say tetraploid cannabis can’t be a unicorn with crazy high yields or cannabinoid or terpene biosynthesis, but it’s not a given, either.
The holy grail for cannabis in terms of ploidy would be for breeding: the creation of haploids (single set of chromosomes). But that’s probably impossible for cannabis, unlike maize. The benefit here is a single hybrid (F1) of haploids = stable line as a DH (doubled-haploid). Selecting for traits becomes much faster than the shotgun approach most cannabis breeders and pollen chuckers use (few breed for specific traits).
To test for ploidy level, simpler methods include root squash and staining, quantifying stomatal aperture size, and stomatal density. More advanced and recent methods include flow cytometry.
I knew it was of the tri gene just haven’t heard trifoliate before always just heard this mute referenced as triploid due to the structure so that’s neat to learn I’ll be looking into it now.
I did have one that was similar to this 2 runs ago that grew out as a actual triploid in stalk structure, it was part of a fem tester pack. Ended up giving it away cause I didn’t have room anymore & I also had a duck foot mute in the same batch. It was also a cross that has Mac lineage in it.
It’s just something I’ve noticed about some Mac lines that come out. If they’re not ran through or hunted, you usually find a few like this in the batch. I give everything a chance till it shows nuts then it’s noosed.
You’ve given me some new things to study again though so thank you
Wait so then is three branches per node & the structure of main stem a whorled phyllotaxy?
Do we need to make a new thread for this possibly so we can get some in-depth stuff? @cyclopath id love to hear what you got on this too since hearing of your work with similarities
Yes, whorled phyllotaxy is the correct term for what you have. Thanks for pointing that out. It’s very late (I mean early) where I am. Brain lapse
Lol no worries! You got me reading & I came across the term so thought to ask. Thank you for confirmation
that phenotype is not necessarily even a “mutant” (defined as a DNA alteration that can be passed on), and can be induced by physical damage to the meristem.
What would the benefits be of breeding for triploid other than what I’ve read being multiple main colas & growth structure being squat?( I sorta see this as a good trait to lean into autos with maybe?)
