I’m looking for input on the feasibility/demand of selling a fully automated hydrocarbon extraction system. The machine would be capable of processing 1,000 lbs an hour of dry biomass using n-butane. It would require one operator and a helper. There are no socks or columns. This machine would take the biomass to crude. I’m finishing up on another hydrocarbon machine to pair with it to produce isolate and seperate the hte. For now what does this community think something like this extraction machine would be worth? The current plan is to run our smaller machine for our own operation.
Who processes that amount of flower consistently?
I use this for neutral and acid cannibinoids. (General cbd biomass) Also it doesn’t denature the terpenes. That answers my question about the demand side though.
I think what makes hydrocarbon extracts special are quality live resin products, preferably fresh frozen. What was once coined as HTFSE is in my opinion the best products. High Terpene Full Spectrum Extracts. (Whole profile of quality material inputs)
I think the business model of running THCa isolate and hte as a secondary product was more so modeled off exploiting the thca hemp market loophole. IMO it’s not necessarily a desired product as much as what people were “allowed” access to/allowed to sell b2c.
(I’m not really into the industry model of break it down to its individual ingredients and then resell it all to ppl to formulate)
For “crude” type extracts idk what comparatively would be the advantage especially if it’s bound for formulation etc. compared to ethanol based extractions.

The extraction from biomass to crude cost me about $25 a kg and that is including everything except the biomass cost. I’m curious to know how this compares to ethanol biomass to crude. I would imagine ethanol is much less expensive.
