Why would one charge a single use pen?
because they deplete as they are stored. It was an issue I had with some Jupiter pens they were a year old and the batterys would die before they could be fully used.
Ditched those real fast
They are twist tops not press fits, so theoretically they are multiple use pens if the consumer is so inclined.
I’ve also had the same issue as @anon56994712, with disposable units running out of charge before they run out of oil. While it may seem unnecessary, it is basically there for peace of mind, the customer can be confident they will get every last drop of oil out of the pen.
They often die in storage while waiting to be filled. This prevents the patient/customer feom being trapped with oil they bought but cannot use due to battery dying out.

yeah this is a huge issue. I’ll never go near 0.5ml disposables because they always lose some. 0.3ml’s are usually safe but of course they die with one droplet left pressed up against the glass by the intake holes and next thing you know you’ve got people coming in with them with receipts trying to get a full replacement. disposables are a necessary evil but they are the worst
in the traditional market, you can tell people to fuck off 
Oh man if people knew how many cartridges/pens get returned for the most ridiculous stuff in retail. People do the darnedest things with their vapes and act totally mindblown when it stops working. Do you guys realize how many people try hitting their carts with exposed wires from phone chargers? Apparently this is the new thing for people who dont want to spend 8 bucks on a battery. They literally hotwire their cart
