For Sale: Myers Lab 3 Centrifugal Distillation System

Item Model/Manufacturer: Myers Lab 3 Centrifugal Molecular Distillation System
Description:
The principle behind the Myers Vacuum Centrifugal Molecular Stills is low pressure and extremely short residence time. Once the feed material has been degassed, it flows onto the spinning heated disc. Distillation takes place in less than 1 second as the material expands out exponentially on the radius of the disc. The residue is caught within a gutter surrounding the rotor and then flows down to the collecting vessel below. The distillate condenses on the outer shell of the still and flows by gravity to another collecting vessel also below the still.

The major advantages that can be expected from the Lab-3 Molecular Still are:

  • High product percentage yield.
  • Close to 1 theoretical plate.
  • Elimination of color bodies.
  • Elimination of odor fractions.
  • Reduction of acid values in ester distillation.
  • Removal of excess reactants.
  • Elimination of residual metal catalysts.
  • Minimized thermal hazard (a necessity for heat sensitive compounds).
  • The still itself may be purchased separately or with controls and pumping system.

The Lab-3 has a 3 inch diameter rotor with a throughput capability of about 0 – 2 lbs/hour. Like the other still models, the Lab-3, with the pumping system will operate around 1 micron pressure.

Is this unit brand new?

Yes brand new. All the other components aside from the 3 units shown are still in the original box. The processing facility purchased it planning to start distillation but plans changed and it was never used.

I certainly don’t need this. But I sure want it.

Dang. The price is right for playing with it for R&D. Unfortunately I say that about everything which is probably why I am no good with money.

@CollectiveObjective I could almost convince myself to go halfsies…

I remember spending a stupid amount of time in 2019 trying to convince Ulvac to release their spinning disc system for cannabis only to have some C-level change policies and say they’d sell us pumps but not distillation systems. It would have been nice to see some competition and mutual improvement on this concept.

Beautiful system good luck finding her a good home

Does the system include some sort of water chiller or is it just the hookups for water on the pumping system?

Still available. 5k OBO

Ill be back in america in a week or two,

Whats estimated weight of the system? Do you have crates for it? Ill need to have it shipped
