Fluids for Heaters and Chillers for WFE

Looking for heat transfer fluid for chillers and heaters for my WFE system.

Heaters: -25C to 250C and RT to 250C (theoretical numbers)

Chillers: -60C to RT

I have heard Dynalene 600 is good. But, price is outrageous. I have read about Dow Syltherm XLT and it appears to be great (also a lot cheaper).

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Keep your syltherm away from moisture if or run a dehumidifier in your room, I’ve waterlogged my syltherm on a chiller and little ice crystals blocked my pump mid run.

Marlotherm is what used to come with CTS units

I’ve used Duratherm before, they also sell a food grade Duratherm if you are worried about critical contact during production.

Jarytherm is running in one of my other friends YH chem units.

Do You recommend running Syltherm in heater & chillers?

I would only recommend syltherm if you can ensure you won’t waterlog it. A lot of that depends on your room, bath type, and environment. I will say it got to a lower running temp than any of the other fluids I’ve used.

Duratherm S is the only fluid I used for high heat

I use paratherm-NF in DeltaT/Mokon type hot oil re-circulators.

For silicone based, you can’t beat Duratherm S. I’ve ran Marlotherm SH in my hubers but recently switched to Duratherm HF-FG for the food safety and health aspects.
