Long story short, in our LPG set-up we filter down to 40 microns (we do not CRC or use a filter stack, nor are we interested in doing so). 90% of the BHO we used gets used in IPRs, so any <40um kief that makes its way through the filters has not been an issue. We recently started making BHO vapes, and we are unsurprisingly seeing kief in our vape blends, so the presence of kief is now an issue. In the past, we have tried reducing our LPG filter gaskets from 40 to 5 microns, but we experienced drastic flow reductions.
Is there an efficient way to filter warm decarboxylated BHO? We have incubators and ovens to keep things hot. We are operating on around a 10kg scale, so I don’t think gravity filtering through a sieve is an efficient option. Thank you in advanced!
