Extractor socks

A couple well placed light whacks on the outside of the vac seal before taking the sock out will make the sold moldable and easy to fit into your mc. I have also not seen any chanelling when doing this. You might lose a quarter gram of trichomes at most if you’ve done it right.

You know, I have had this issue and that’s why I don’t load my socks prior. I load em in the equipment and I get more in there and don’t have to fight a sock trying to defrost when I don’t want it to. I grab bag by bag from the freezer and load them into the equipment. Granted we all run different setups.

I also vac seal (not too tight) and throw in freezer. Mine is -80, but still a freezer. Then I pull the bags out after they have frozen. Smash them and put them back. Then I begin runs. I pour 500g of FF in each time and pack it slightly. I can get bout 7k give or take (I’ve gotten 7500) in my 6x48 column.

I do want to try to freeze with ln2 and then vac seal. As long as it doesn’t melt in that time.

Mother of god! I’ve never heard of someone shoving that much into a 6x48. Talk about stuffing that tube like it owes you money! Lol

This is frozen material, mind you. I just tap it down with a 2" dowel. The material is pulverized into the a powder. There’s not many nugs left. It gives a nice wash and it get pretty good returns from it. And it was pretty full and kinda difficult to tie it off. But it makes good use of my time with frozen material

Pulling from a -80 freezer makes one hell of a difference. I pull from a -40 now and it’s not brittle enough

That is true. Coming out that cold it gets smashed into nothing. Almost like mixing kief with biomass so it doesn’t clog up. But it packs very easily. Not too hard to take out. The little guy struggles with em a bit. I give him a few moments to get a work out before I step in.

One of the guys came by the other day and asked if I was tendering the terps… Hahahahaha

Mind you I stuff mine like crazy too. I’m stuffing around 4200g in a 6x36. And that is an all out effort to get it all in. @Dred_pirate is taking it to another level

I’m stuffing 1400g/ ft of 6” pipe and @Dred_pirate is stuffing roughly 1875/g ft of 6”

Give or take ya. I’ll look at the tags when I get back and see how much I ran that day. It was almost 15 kilo in two runs. I swear I’m not packing it hard. It’s literally smashed into a powder when it’s frozen.

I know I’m late to the party but are you saying you heat you product column to recover the left over gas or are you keeping it cold and pushing with nitro??

This is one 6x48 column of fresh frozen all smashed up. And how smashed/pulverized I load it

I use a 4" x 24" material column and want to start using material socks. I’ve heard Bizzybee’s socks are good , however the smallest they are available in is 4" x 36". Can you use a sock that is longer than the material column by just stuffing the extra in the top of the column?

Thats what i do and have no issue @CuriousChemist
