Extraction Methods in 2026

Hi all,

I’ve recently returned to the cannabis industry after about a 5 year absence but fondly recall gathering great info here and was hoping for an update on how all the tech has evolved regarding extraction.

Previously, it was all about centrifuge ethanol extractors. But now I’m seeing a lot about water extraction, which wasn’t super popular back then.

Are these ethanol extractors still the ideal systems for high throughput/efficiency? or what are some other systems out there to consider? I’m hoping to replace a primitive CO2 system from many moons ago.

Our goal is to process about 150kg of biomass per day.

Thank you in advance for the help and info! Great to see some familiar names still around!

Hydrocarbon is for quality. Ethanol for making disty in bulk. CO2 never really belonged. Sent you a DM.

Your extraction goals are lightweight in 2026. We at Subzero Scientific can help you with solvent recovery to easily hit your numbers regardless if it’s ethanol or butane.

If you need a big boy centrifuge I am your guy. If you need a closed loop with all the bells and whistles, Zack is your guy. BVV’s closed loops are like a Toyota compared to the Ferrari that is Illuminated’s closed loops lol. Ours gets the job down (10-15LB/hour) for a good price, just without all the automation
