This decanter centrifuge is just about ready to go to its new home extracting ethanol from hemp biomass. Capable of processing 1600 lbs per hour. Feel free to reach out with any questions or pricing.
Where do you put the hemp?
This is a continuous feed centrifuge. You feed the centrifuge with a pump through an inlet tube located on the left side in this picture. The product is separated inside and the solids and liquids are discharged through separate ports on the bottom of the machine.
How wet does the biomass have to be to pump through your pump?
We have pumped biomass with 80-85% solids.
Got any function videos?
Using what kind of pump and how often does the line between pump and centrifuge clog? What kind of temp rise are you seeing? Are you flushing afterwards with clean solvent?
Hi, we use a centrifugal pump. If your hemp biomass is ground prior to soaking in the ethanol you will not experience pump clogs. I do not have any good numbers on temp rises however the product has minimal residence time in the centrifuge so the temperature rise will be minimal. The centrifuge has a Clean in Place feature that will remove most of the product out of the machine once you have completed processing. If you were to flush with clean solvent after each use you would wash the “wall cake” out of the machine. The wall cake is formed naturally to allow for optimal separation.
Sure, can you send me an email and I can respond with a video. Jamie@southerncentrifuge.net
