Throwing this in for those of you building your own systems, or replacing components on existing systems. Selecting a PRV is not as simple as matching the pressure you want.pressure-relief-valve-engineering-handbook-en-us-3923290.pdf (9.3 MB)
My first job out of engineering school was at a Process Safety firm doing relief valve studies for oil and gas.
Can confirm there is way more to it than just picking a set pressure.
Super super useful book! Thank you for sharing.
Never thought I would be excited to read a handbook on pressure relief valves
Thank you!! Extremely useful book.
That makes two of us, but the timing is perfect!
Good resource!
Proper sizing and using the correct type of PRV aside,
I think we have all seent many PRV on a CLS not connected to a discharge header, which baffles me every time.
Anyone got that video of the CLS in a C1D1 where the solvent ignited in system and created a flamethrower burning the operator?
Electrical safety, maintenance, and repairs: http://www.sailorbob.com/files/cqe/NSTM_300.pdf I’m not super comfortable uploading that one, so link.
Lots of good info in here too if you search, particularly for troubleshooting pumps and valves: http://militarynewbie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/NAVEDTRA-14150-Machinists-Mate-1-C-Surface.pdf
