Dry condenser vs hot condenser short path

Heyo!

Just getting my full bore pieces together and was deliberating how to run my condenser. I’ve read hot condenser or dry condenser is the way to go, just curious on the opinions on both (or even heat gun)?

Could I even just fill the condenser with a high heat oil and leave it plugged? (***Open to atmosphere on the top so it doesn’t build pressure) Let it heat up via the vapors on the heads? Let it cool down slightly via atmosphere losses? Or wrap in tinfoil to maintain heat?

When people run it dry, it’s usually cu they are running so fast, that theres no need to heat condense. Or they havvent heard or dont have the equipment for the hot condenser.
You will want to heat ur condenser to atleast 80C to keep everything moving if you are going slow
When I first heard about it and didnt have the heated circulator for it, I would put oil inside with the top cap undone and put a thermometer in the barb. Then heat with a heat gun, it kinda worked but it’s not gonna be a good solution to the hot condenser method
