Double checking my fear: root aphids

Botaniguard Maxx has both beauveria bassiana and pyrethrins.

Again I suggest using this only in veg

Someone posted a table above for botaniguard. It suggests 2 lbs per 100 gallons of water. A lb seems to be about 80$. So about 160$ per treatment to drench all my 1 gallon pots. It suggests 3-4 treatments of this a few days about. Thatā€™s a couple hundred bucks but at this point I need to do whatever it takes

The above table notes to use botaniguard 22wp. Iā€™ll research the difference between that and the maxx

22wp is beauveria bassiana only. Maxx is BB + pyrethrins

On it^^^. I wish I could find it local but Iā€™m gonna do the math and see if I can have some shipped asap. Thank you for that Input!

So im reading up on bio works stuff and realize i have to treat both the soil for the aphids and for the flying fuckers, so that makes sense. I wish i could find it locally though as waiting gives me anxiety. I want to find something to start treating asap. Like i said it sucks i watered heavy yesterday so my pots are pretty damn wet and i dont want to continue drenching themā€¦ Im trying to get out of panic mode and into ā€œproactiveā€ mode lol

So far my battle plan is as followsā€¦ and very open to changes.
A guy i know and FULLY trust as very well educated in this field suggested the following:
For the root aphids-
Drench pots with 1/4 tsp/g Redtail,
apply mosquito bits/ bt

I have a product called microbelift bmc which is a super concentrated BT formula. From what i learned you cant really over do it with BT so ill give a very heavy dose of that as well.

Next, treat with bioworks botanigard Maxx, and then regular botanigard. Watering in 3-4 times every 3-4 days

As for the flyers, i may use one of the various pyrethrin sprays i have on deck, as well as sticky traps to assess the population.

Atleast i kind of have a direction

funny enough, this goes back full circle to an issue i had last year seen here:
https://future4200.com/t/help-identifying-root-pest/98384/40

Although it seems that the conclusion on that, was they are good guys known as Hyposasis miles. I still would like to 1000% confirm the root aphidsā€¦ but judging from my pics as well as the large amount of dead fliers i found i think i have my confirmationā€¦ These bugs are way bigger than i remember the hyposasis guys being. Im going to the store now to grab a few things that were suggested to atleast start doing SOMETHINGā€¦

Are the pictures i posted conclusive enough for everyone or does anyone have doubts it could be root aphids. I do not see any on the stalks, stems, leaves etcā€¦ The ONLY thing im seeing is these guys congregating on roots when i take my plant out of the pot.

Video of these heathens

Find anything with imidacloprid in it. Soil drench 3x consecutive at 2ml/gal. Issue solved. Promis is discontinued :persevere:

^ looking for that as wellā€¦ the ONLY weird thing I read about imadaproclid(sp) is that it can make mites, if present, multiply like crazy. While I donā€™t have any mites that Iā€™m aware of, the ability to boost reproduction of mites scared me. At the shop now gonna pick the old manā€™s brain

How the F does an insecticide meant to kill a few types of bugs give another bug a ā€œviagraā€ like treatment?

Iā€™m calling bro-science on that crap!

Conserve sc @Demontrich and @Eastcoaststrange

For local, immediate availability goto Home Depot and get Bayer fruit and tree. Sucks to support bayer but better then dead plantsā€¦

I have things like forbid(bayer) avid, triazicide all on hand all though I donā€™t like to use them, nor know if they are appropriate for this.

Current suggestion is redtail heavy drench, with some bt treatment.

Follow up with imacloprid(sp)

What is the active ingredient in that? At this point I want to throw any and all good products at this issue. Not only to kill all these fuckers, but itā€™s transplanting time, and I want to attack this while they are still in small pots. I know this may take a few days/week+ to assess

Imidacloprid

Either you were backing up other suggestions, or correcting my spelling lol. My phone doesnā€™t let me scroll up to check the spelling as I reply lol. Sorry! My local store has imidacloprid 4f in stockā€¦ a lot of these items state their dosage in acreage which is a pain In the ass.

So for today, Iā€™m leaving with redtail, and a super concentrate BT treatmentā€¦ will look into the imidacloprid 4f, or similar items since I can only drench so much anyway

Nice get that stuff.
