If you want to do something about that, adding the following code block to a userscript or stylus stylesheet will override the notification colours and set them to blues if you find the orange too stabby.
I will have more themes up you can select from your user preferences on top of the light theme that is already available. I would not recommend using a userscript unless you absolutely know what you are doing, as these changes could possibly cause issues with other functions of the site now, or after further updates.
Open to hear what themes people liked. I threw up orange for Halloween but will revert to a purple and a blue dark theme closer to the original (minus the issues we were having with white on white highlights). Open to having 4 or 5 themes total, just dont want to go too crazy.
I went ahead and threw up (Blue) which is the dark theme with a blue accent.
Click your profile picture > Profile (person) Icon > Preferences > Interface
I like the orange for a temporary change of flavor.
One thing that I’ve always been annoyed by, and maybe it’s just me making a mistake, but when you have a notice (a little circle with a number) in the upper right hand corner on your avatar and then you click it the list it brings up doesn’t sort the newest alert to the top so I have to click through the different categories such as likes, replys, awards, etc. to see what changed.
At this point all the categories I have contain unread things in them so I have to go through them all and see what I don’t recognize.
The bell icon should be the important unread stuff sorted by date. The other categories shouldn’t produce the profile icon dot. There are things lioe an unread DM or reply to topic youve set notifications for wont go away until you click it. You can change most of that by fiddling with the bell icons on the bottom of threads.
