Distillation, Extraction, Precipitation with Natural Deep Eutectic Systems

Hello dear community,

recently I have read about the possibillity of antisolvent precipitation of lipophilic extract from a hydrophilic natural deep eutectic system (NADES) with water as antisolvent.

Procedure:

Extraction(, vacuum distillation of volatiles in a rotary evaporator) with use of NADES with water to reduce viscosity (and enable coevaporation)

(Decanting of essential oil)

Hot filtration of extract

antisolvent precipitation with cold water, thermal cycling, decanting

Solvent recovery by distilling off water

solvent power and precipitation with and without terpsneed to be tested to see if fractionation or one pot would work better but for comparable solvent systems there are good results.

The choice of NADES depends on a few things. Viscosity, vapor pressure, toxicity, smell, solvent power, hydrophily, thermal and chemical stability, selectivity are there anymore?

Any suggestions?Somebody wanna try? It is basically heating and stirring and a little mixing, cooling and decanting too. Maybe a precipitate ready for decarb can be obtained with this simple procedure.

In general I find them not economically interesting so have not given them much attention
