Been using decarbed BHO as “pipe dope” on stainless steel threads with great success!
As most of you know stainless steel threads are not so much fun to be working with, this definitely helps!
So far I have not tried this on a high pressure system like propane but my fittings are making in further than they would with just Teflon.
Downside is its messy but can easily be cleaned up with a touch of Etoh
Anyone else tried this? Anyone see any issues that could potentially arise from this because so far its been great!
Ideally everything would be compression fittings but most people cannot afford this option. I hope this helps some of you out!
Before I get the hate id just like to say that Teflon and pipe dope do not actually seal threads. They are a thread “Lubricant” that allows the tapered threads to seal once made in.
