Decanter centrifuge

Well seeing how that’s what they in person called it when we chatted with them

Awesome. They made up a name just for cannabis…suggests they probably added 40% to the price tag as well (alternatively, you were interacting with “booth babes” who made the name up…)

quick google suggests the decanter centrifuge was patented in 1986. so they have been available for more than 30 years.

I can find ONE legitimate hit for “lay down centrifuge”…and that seems to be Flottwegg making sure they catch everyones query (maybe they learned that term at MJBizcon?!?).

compared to 300K hits for “decanter centrifuge”. What does that tell you about the correct nomenclature?

you’re welcome to call it a “screw press” for all I care…but I strongly suggest using the correct terminology if you’re trying to communicate with others.

Edit: even Kyte’s website has no clue what a “lay down centrifuge” is…

What are you truly that bored that you want to argue with people seriously go get a life dude I’m just certain simply telling you what the man at MJ biz con said if your that freaking bored go be bored with someone else how are you going to have someone that thinks he knows everything really could give two hoots what you think or don’t think just simply stating what the man had said there and gave us a flyer and paperwork outside of that I can careless go find a life

By the way when I did use the word screw prayers he changed it to something else maybe you should be at the event when I was there talking to him saying how you think you know where things go bother somebody else

Unless it’s a second or third wash, that solvent contains the cannabinoids…so yeah, leaving it behind is a non-starter

@cyclopath excellent point.

@Jimcarter-1 compared to the Alpha Laval decanture centriguge pricing, those units from Kyte are very nicely priced. There is a used/refurb DC guy in Texas/NC and he says the AL units go for around 500k.

We have looked at the Vincent Screw Press and we looked at these last month at MJ biz in In Vegas I asked the man if it was a screw press he said no it’s more of a lay down center fuse not here to argue with nobody could care two hoots less was just being nice post in the advertisement flyer and the man gave me it seems like a much better system than the Vincent Screw Press , for sure does more product Then the Vincent Screw Press cost a little bit more but very nice set up the two guys there representing extremely nice and very knowledgeable

The pricing on the flyer that I posted was his pricing he wrote

Can anybody post a video of one of these in action? (separating hemp/canna)

@Tech1145 Any more breadcrumbs on those $20k units?

it absolutely is. so long as you’ve got enough biomass to feed it.

which is a whole lot different from saying

they are called decanters. otherwise the book @AutomationGuy showed us would have had a different title…

not bored. nor attacking you. just making sure others following along don’t adopt the wrong terminology. because cannabis already has enough jargon that conflicts with chemistry or physics. Educating folks on this stuff is how I pay the bills…

posting the cut sheet was great. especially with the notes on pricing.

thank you!

If you don’t own the manufacturing facility, chinese manufacturers will sell you out no problem. We met with some other manufacturers in China that were in the same city as us and they were throwing out client names and designs like it was their job, and we didn’t even ask! We have our own engineers and designs lol.

A few things to clear up on Decanter Centrifuges:

  1. They are traditionally used for dewatering applications like separating shit from water
  2. Particulate is only in contact with the spinning outer bowel for one to three seconds
  3. You can still run them even if your slurry runs out or low
  4. One of two uses of a screw press is to remove water from cannabis. Supposedly you can remove 70%+ of the water and only 1-2% of the goodies. This speeds up drying time.
  5. It’s hard to wrap your head around but in traditional decanting you pull stuff off the top surface of a pond. A decanter centrifuge is doing the exact same thing but some mad man a hundred years ago saw that it was the same principle if you combined a screw and centrifuge
  6. It is not a replacement for a traditional cannabis bag centrifuge

That’s true of a lot of north american manufacturers as well. Ethics are not a country by country thing, you need to pick your partners carefully.

One hundred percent agreed! We’ve owned the facility for ten years, originally used it to manufacture brewery tanks and other industrial pressure vessels. Safest and best option is partner with as little people as possible or no one at all.

Have you seen the new Canna Decanter?
Do you know what it can an can’t do?
I read on a forum called future,
that perhaps you’re a gonna need two.

If you’re in a hurry
you can feed it a slurry
but its still sopping wet when you’re through.
