Well i can tell you from experience not to microwave solvents, even if it is tempting to heat a wash bottle in there. I somehow got away with this for years (dumb ass). One day I nuked about 200ml of acetone in a plastic washbottle, the door was blown off the microwave and hit me standing 4-5 feet away, and the body of the microwave was streched in a manner that looked like some one put a bottle jack in there and spread it wide. I was not injured, but it scared the shit out of me. the acetone did not ignite and
I was lucky, there was no fireball. The wash bottle was microwaved without the lid and the side of the bottle was bubbled out and ruptured, there was no sign of damage to the top of the bottle. From what i have gathered the cause of the explosion was super heated acetone, that rapidly expanded into a gas, the expansion was so violent that it blew the microwave up harder than i have seen an m-80 do. watch out for super heating of liquids, that shit can be scary.

I dont use terps when nuking for that exact reason

I use 10% total terpenes personally. 5% terp dilutant and 5% terp profile. This can be adjusted based on taste preference. Any more than 10% and with some cartridges I have experienced over priming and oil flooding the coil reservoir.
To heat up the distillate I would just place it on a hotplate or heating mantle set to 50-80C depending on how hot you want it. Both have stirring which makes the homogenization process easier. You all are crazy putting oil or terps in the microwave lol!

Thats why we said no terps. The microwave does not over heat oil if you use short bursts and a candy thermometer

I was under the impression that microwaves destroy thc.

I wouldnt risk the microwave simply because setting the Oven to 220F to decarb shatter and then mixing 15% terps at 200F is pretty straightforward and hard to fuckup. Winterizing/dewaxing is a whole other beast for people who are used to warming up concentrate and adding flavor.

i head that one too, only it was from the family with the microwave in the garage…they would run away from it when the microwave was in use.Thems some crazy hippys!

I won’t deny or admit that I used to microwave small amounts of alcohol to warm it up, so can wash out my dab rig easier.

Tinfoil on the openings , 190 proof alcohol in the rig, kitchen sink and hot water the alcohol and rig , shake vigorously, save claim.

I do that now. But, I also have a plethora of ethanol that I have access to. Compared to back when I only had iso or denatured alcohol laying around.
