D8, D10 on analytics

If one does not have a standard for D8 or 10 how does it show up on an HPLC report?
Will it register as D9?

This was discussed for GC, I assume it would be similar for HPLC.

D8 testing standards are pretty common now for testing labs across the country. D10 on the other hand is another story. I think there may be a couple entities working on it but I can’t confirm that. As far as I know there isn’t any for d10 yet.

if d9 isomerized to d10 then there is a chance you will see d8 in that test so if you have a curiously low result and it is showing d8 then there is probably some d10 in there and maybe other isomerizations

also Ive noticed curiously high levels of CBC in some samples, I think this may be something else represented erroneously by CBC on the chromatogram

d10 looks like CBC on an HPLC. even when you know it’s not.

it’s pretty easy to see it’s not CBC on a GC.
the SRI 8610 I was using showed a retention time similar to THCV

edit: caveat; with out an actual standard, I don’t know that the “mystery peak” I was following was actually delta10. it’s a very reasonable guess though.

so here is a test showing a little d8 and a ton of CBC
