I highly suggest you guys watch this video. I can’t stress enough how much this industry is related to ours. Even the type of media you use plays a role in the flavor just like the type of barrel would in a wine. None is better than the other. It’s really what the end product goal is. It’s a long video so watch it when you have time to really pay attention and compare their practices to what we do. There’s a lot of hidden Tek in it
U ever play with the wine fining agents?
Polycar and gelatin etc
I have ideas on where they belong in our process. They are on my list of rnd for sure
i think weed oil is more like other oils like olive etc… or botanical extracts…
What is the citric acids role in this product? Any reported issues with the citric acid causing isomerization?
I believe it lowers the solubility if the fats. Perhaps it’s more complex than that.
Isomerization of cannabinoids is highly unlikely in a butane solution.
Cant wait to get a large racked system and try this. Hate watching my THCA crash in the cold when trying to catch wax…
I’ve talked to a friend about something similar. I suggested using an condensing coil in hot water or a sleeved dewax column with the sleeve filled with warm water to stall and warm up the solution before sending it through the CRC
It’s to help clarify the oil. All acidic clays will do this to an extent however when there is too many gums/fats, using citric acid and water helps to improve the clarity even further. There’s two types of phospholipids, hydratable and non hydratable which can affect the clarity of the oil. The hydratable are easily removed with just water. The non hydratable need an acid and water
Do you guys have any Canadian retailers?
Anyone have this a shot yet…I’m waiting on new material to give it a go
