Cultivation in Colombian green house and getting big, dense, frosty buds

Haha, do you know someone who is a specialist on this topic?

What exact climate conditions are you able to maintain in the hoop house?

What is your best current strain and what is the fan leaf size on it?

Presumably “natural” means you are using soil. Has a soil analysis been completed?

One can not just accept that heat and humidity cause fluffy buds. Heat and humidity change physiological processes in the plant. You will notice that the general foliage around you has adapted to have a large leaf area compared to plants from drier climates. You’ll want to strive to “adapt” the plants to the environment by getting the leaves as large as possible to give them surface area to transpire. A lot of this can be accomplished with nutritionals, just have to know what the starting point is.

I also know enough about this topic that I get flown out to colombia twice a year to to audit grow practices for a multinational firm.

I’ve turned multiple people down on here for consult work. I would turn down op also. I’ve found consulting by proxy to be ineffective, so I don"t take on clients I can’t physically visit once a month.

Yea I should have said plug. Crypto jargon brain fart cross fire. Also It was meant light hearted.

In spain in tunnel growt people hang crates filled with dry ice in the top of there hoop tunnels for c02

I have seem many strains varietys grown in many different climate types and growsetups…

And lets just say you could bring it home with the right density of planting(not to close) and sufficient biostimulans to induce systemic rssistance to pathogens borne by air and soil…

But in a openpolinated population large enough you will allways find individuals that will outperform the others wich is kindda the ultimate goal and success ratio increase.

It just cost one or two runs, so it might not be a cup of tea for many…

What exact climate conditions are you able to maintain in the hoop house?**

  • We have low night temperatures of 14°C and highest T° of 34°C, average 24-26°C

What is your best current strain and what is the fan leaf size on it?**

  • It´s a God´s blue cheese, the fan leave is 14cm x 18cm

Presumably “natural” means you are using soil. Has a soil analysis been completed?**

  • Yes, we are using soil, we have soil analysis, see them below. Also the pH is 5.6-6.3 and C.E. is between 1.5 - 2.0.

I can get more information if you are interested.

Cheers!

At the average 24-26c what is your average humidity?

I don’t see any attachments. But just for clarification, you are fertigated with a salt or liquid non organic fertilizer solution?

hi @emdub27 thanks for your persistence and sorry for my late reply. You are asking the right questions for sure to get to the answers.

We do use organic supplements and non organic fertilizers. The average humidity is 65% on a 24h range however we have crazy deltas with humidity levels of 90-95% at night…

Hola Daniel. En quĂŠ parte de Antioquia estĂĄs? Yo te podrĂa asesorar.

Your plants are probably having a hard time with transpiration. Do you track your VPD? Can you get your humidity lower without wild swings? The fact that your swings are at night that high makes me sure of it.

He likely can’t get that night humidity under control because that’s the humidity outside. I’m sure we could. But trying to get the information to do so has been an exercise in futility. We need a full picture.

Those dark cycle humidity spikes will cause internodal stretching for sure. Either contol your humidity via significant infrastructure and power costs or … use a pgr. A non toxic one. I like Seacrop 16. Nothing but all natural kelp extract. Still won’t be perfect but will help structure of flowers imo.

Used properly, in moderation, Seacrop16 or any other kinetin product won’t adversely effect quality.

We can’t use it as it is a listed pesticide in many cannabis pharmacopoeias around the world.

But you can use nitrozyme. Same stuff, not labeled as a pgr…
