Crowd sourced refrigeration for food pantry?

This is kind of like buying a walk-in from @potguru…only different.

A buddy asked for my help the other day, and my first response was “nope, ain’t happening”, but I figured I’d ask here on the off chance that one of the thermodynamagic wizards known to frequent this space could help.

We’ve got a local food pantry that has been using “hosted” fridges/freezers to store their food. They just lost a host, and are trying to come up with another solution.

So how do you power a multi-user fridge/freezer without electrickery? Or how do you provide electrickery to a freezer on a street corner?

Id also check solor companies for used uv panels . Most companies have stacks of them in the back.

What are the power demands? Solar will definitely work just have to know the numbers to run the calculations

Power requirements would seem to change based on how many time you expect the door to open. Doesn’t seem like a trivial sized array to me.

Are propane absorption units out of the question?
