CRC = Completely Remove Character

its what plants crave !

Coming to Future 4200 with a strong technical background is a bit trippy.
It took me a couple of months to translate your language into mine.
A lot of the terms used are colorful and descriptive but are very ill-defined.
If somebody wants to try and put together a glossary, I will help.
That would go a long way to reducing arguments due to misinterpretation.

A few to start:

Crude = a solution containing solvents and extracted plant materials. No post-processing has been done.

Distillate = a highly purified and concentrated extract. Generally composed of almost all Delta-9-THC, with possibly some terpenes added back, for flavor.

Terpenes = The flavors and aromas of plants come from the terpenes. There are a large variety of these, and they differ in smell, flavor and therapeutic effect. Below is a small chart, showing a few of these:

There is an effort to do that.

Too lazy to link it.

Try glossary or a synonym

So my molecularly distilled CBD doesn’t count as distillate?

If it’s not destined for further refining before the customer receives it, is it appropriate to call it crude? Or should “crude” be reserved for “I’m distilling it anyway”?

That’s it, I’m mixing Quinine in with my dist. and making custom carts that turn on a UV light when you take a draw.

Vitamin E Acetate scandal 2.0

I’m thinking that some cartridge maker’s thinking went like this:

  1. How can I make my product better....make it stand out
  2. How can I make more profit
  3. I read somewhere that there is something called THC Acetate
  4. I read that it is more potent
  5. I read that after conversion, you get a 25% increase in product weight
  6. THC is oil soluble
  7. Vitamin E Acetate is an oil
  8. Maybe if i use 25% Vitamin E Acetate as my liquifier for my carts, some of that acetate will hook up with the THC
  9. I'm gonna get HUGE

This situation is almost certainly some idiot that has no formal training, and absolutely no idea what real chemistry is, and how it works.

I have consumed cartridges, and actually prefer them in some situations, but have stopped. It saddens me to realize that people have died, due to somebody’s ignorance.

Kind thoughts and positive energy needs to go out to those that have been injured.

Information exchange could have prevented this kind of problem, but so much is hidden. Corporate secrets can kill.

I found out that I was wrong about “no formal training”. There are big companies involved, the kind that should have had serious science to substantiate their formulations.

Better to not say more. Here is a Leafly article that explains very well.

Help

So my next batch I’m processing has seeds (sour blueberrie -Humboldt seeds-) unstable outside, lots of tiny white seeds from it going hermaphrodite :frowning:

So I have a bubble set to make rosin & cls with a unused crc stack as a tool set.

What would the best route to have something worth dabbin on?

If I go the sleeved-cls-crc route ,what filter medium would capture the seed oils keeping my dabs worth smoking?

Going to freeze it, and take some advice from you guys.
Many thanks in advance

Others may have better suggestions, but I suggest separation of the seeds, prior to extraction.

The obvious first suggestion would be simple sifting. Another suggestion would be using an air stream to sort, wheat and chaff type thing. Or a third suggestion is to float the seeds away (probably not a good idea).

By “Bubble Set”, I assume that you mean ice water hash bubble bags. If so, just use those. Very clean bubble hash needs no further refinement, it will be full melt, and the seeds will not be an issue at all. You can jerk around with the coarser levels of stuff, if you want to extract from them. The finest material should be usable just as it is, without any additional steps (except for drying the water).

Use the bubble bags for seedy biomass.

Ya I spent a few hours removing seeds by hand them made some bubble, it came out way better then expected. Going to micro plane & dry it then press it this weekend into some rosin

Heard alot of people crops got seeded this year

Ya I have two nabor separated by about a mile and a half, we all found seeds this season. With solid genetics. One more reason for a sealed greenhouse with air intake filters. Thought the county has restrictions permanent structures so I’d need a different permit, that said if I go that route I might as well build in light dep curtains, and finish my cottage permit
