Contaminated Hash Rosin

Wanted to know if anyone had any solutions to solving an issue with hash that has been poorly dried then pressed into rosin. I haven’t seen many posts on this and would like to know if there was any way to extract excess water while preserving terpenes and flavor.

In what way is it contaminated? I’m assuming you mean by improperly dried it was oxidated so the Rosin came out dark? And that in the case there’s good news and bad news. My understanding at least there’s not a way that you’re going to regain that color without defeating the purpose of it being rosin. However you could always make some mean edibles with that.

If you could describe more about your situation and the limitations you have about using the material and if this is for yourself or for retail maybe others could give more insight as well.

EDIT: REALLY HIGH AND DIDN’T READ THE POST FULLY. You are going to want to get a freeze dryer, mostly so this doesn’t happen again.

Being that the material wasn’t dried properly, the rosin has quite a bit of water in it.

Yeah I misread your post. Do you have a freeze dryer?

Yes the technician ran the material in a freeze dryer with a cycle time of 30hrs.
(10hr freeze/20hr dry)

Hard to say where the excess moisture could have came from. My conclusion is the material was pressed wet.

Some have suggested whipping and adding low heat to get it to a more stable texture. Others have said that the material is completely ruined. I was thinking of saucing it as a possible solution.

If it was pressed wet the rosin is likely going to have some rot happening at some point
