Hi everyone,
Just had a quick question as to how to best package concentrates at scale (10kg+ of badders, sauces, etc). into ~1g packaging. My best idea is a lot of scales, bodies, and scoopulas. Looking forward to thoughts
That is pretty much the best route right now, a few people are working on automated depositors but in my opinion no one has nailed it yet.
Detriot despensing solutions claims theirs works on all extract types. Ive yet to see one in person (in operation)
Hear me out…
Appropriately sized silicone molds, pour and scrape into them, cool and then demold into containers
I’ve seen theirs at mjbizcon and it uses a disposable 1 liter plastic tube to dispense the extract which is a major flaw in my opinion. and at a 60k price tag its tough to justify.
If they could make a reusable ptfe/stainless option it would be a lot better.
I hear you but there are some issues with that.
- silicone and terps dont mix.
- density of extracts change from strain to strain so one mold may work to get 1 gram per cavity but switch to another strain or consistency and its not going to work.
cake decorating flat spatulas for homogenizing your material, dough scrape to use as an extension of your non dominant hand to put like 50-60g of hash at a time, + dabbers to get the 1g in each.
Probably something similar to this:
Use either this:
Or position your mesh gasket in the middle tri-clamp on your cart farmer, and use an end cap on the top one. Sweat out the sauce and dispense it into your gram containers at a preselected dosage (ex .4ml)
take the leftover solids and weigh them to your desired dosage (ex .6g)
You can use a handheld auger for rough estimates of smaller solids

I’ll have a sugar dispensing cart farmer attachment availible for 400 starting mid june
So yeah this is an old thread but I found it looking to see if anyone had tried what I was looking to do…
anyway, if a caulking gun can dispense cold epoxy or silicone…and badders/flans/etc…are less viscous than those things…
I’ll let y’all know how this works
Lowtemp had a pretty slick machine at BizCon. They were doing a demo with some playdough looking material, and it was loading gram jars to within a couple hundredths of a gram. The material is loaded into a stainless tube, and pushed out and cut off into the jar. Not sure how it would work on less viscous or less homogenous material, but worth checking out.
Yeah I’m looking at their machine as well, there are 3 main currently available systems: DDS ($75k), Vapejet ($45k), and Lowtemp ($40k). But I like getting creative and figured I’d give this a shot.
Also, you get the advantage of all the caulk jokes in the dosing room. I mean just look at this description (from the listing)!
“The trigger lock feature allows for easy application of caulk in tight or awkward spaces, eliminating the need for constant pressure. This makes it more comfortable to use over extended periods like in narrow areas”
Good, that’s where I do most of my caulk work.
Effortless Caulking: The cordless design of the auto caulk gun eliminates the need for manual squeezing, significantly reducing hand strain.
I mean, yeah nothing worse than a hand-cramp
INTIMATE ANTI-DRIP FEATURE: our caulk gun is equipped with an anti-drip design is a fantastic feature. It will automatically retract the plunger that preventing any messy drips or spills from dripping out when you release the trigger. It’s a godsend for keeping the workshop - and your project - clean
Ok so they definitely know what they’re doing here right? Anyway, yeah no one wants a drippy caulk.
