Comprehensive Safety Assessment of Diverse Cannabinoids: A Scientific Inquiry REPOST

I am reposting this because I got 0 traction with the last one, and I really think this is something that we should be talking about.

This seems to make it very clear that these cannabinoids on the hemp market are toxic to human lung cells. what do we think about this? the lab that did this both took samples from the industry, and made their own noids to test using common methodology.

I think we all knew that mystery isomerized soup was not good for your lungs, but now we have some science to back that up.

I also find it interesting that none of these noids were toxic to liver cells; I would of assumed eating it would be more tolerable and safer and here the science shows that.

What do we think community? Do you still vaporize delta 8 or other alternate noids? Do you let your friends and family?

“D8THC and D9THCP samples exhibited toxicity for THC HLF (Human Lung Fibroblasts) and HSAEC (Human Small Airway Epithelial Cells) lung cells, however HHC did not show any toxicity in these cell lines. None of the compounds showed toxicity against THLE-3 (Transformed Human Liver Epithelial-3) liver cells.”

" D8-THC samples, while WC-2,8,14,20 are high potency D8-THC samples. All D8-THC samples share similar IC50 values being toxic to HSAEC lung cells all showing a ~ 2.5µM IC50 value while the control Chlorpromazine have higher IC50 values, dictating that D8-THC is toxic to cells in small concentrations. Low or High potency did not matter in terms of toxicity."

Very interesting. Going to have dig a bit more about the liver not showing any toxicity while the lungs do.

Yikes. Is the toxicity in lung cells coming from the D8 itself, or other THC byproducts?

Are all conversions toxic, including CBD to D9?

Its thought to be from my understanding, the impurities yes

This is fantastic! I would be more than happy to help you get traction this go-around.

I think we are touching on multiple safety issues.

D. All of the Above.

A lot of alt-noids present safety issues all in themselves. There is also the adage “dosis sola facit venenum,” Dose alone makes the poison. Many of these compounds are safe to consume in small percentage or even trace amounts. Many of them may even be medically beneficial. Blasting high purity or unknown cocktails into your brain is NOT a good idea. You could hit dangerous levels when untrained bros start mixing unregulated isolates. MOOR THC-P PLZ.

Then you have leftover reagents and catalysts that are in final products. This is easily mitigated by hiring trained and qualified staff with proper equipment and certifications. Unfortunately, due to lack of regulation and enforcement of what little exists, companies are incentivized to hire low-wage labor to turn valves and not care about the final products. If you don’t believe me, try huffing toluenesulfonic acid with a dash of palladium and see what I mean!

“in conclusion HHC (which our company has been making all this time) is safe :blush:

Bravo :clap::ok_hand:

Only one sample of hhc was non toxic to lung cells, at 25% something potency. Its theorized there may be another cannabinoid or compound(s) acting protective in that case. All other HHC samples were toxic to human lung fibroplasty
