I’d like some more conversation about this. As yes I’ve seen cbd with negligible % of other cannabinoids. I’ve never heard of oxidized / age created d8thc. Only acid/solvent created
I would say its a uv isomerization rather than an oxidation.
degradation process 800 illustrates the isomerization of Δ-9-tetrahydrocannabinol forming Δ-8-tetrahydrocannabinol. Isomerization between Δ9-THC and Δ8-THC may be attributed to photochemical properties of phytocannabinoids allowing for UV isomerization.
not sure I dont think the cbd to thc would be uv driven as too much uv will crack the epoxy bridge
back to the diphenol like cbd.
I found this trying to look up how to remediate thc from cbd by uv light which was inspired
by @hollowman .
he may know though.
if it comes up (it probably has and I forgot) ill let you know.
shhh shh i dont wanna hear anything that could potentially justify my own means on these lands. Welcome to the game, and if you have any fucking questions be sure that shit is resolved

Niemals (Never forget!).
The WIPHE provisions were NOT thought out very carefully as all extractors, regardless of methodology (hydrocarbon, CO2, alcohol/ethanol, etc.) will out be in violation of 0.3% THC through their normal extraction SOPs. Everyone was so caught up on Delta-8 after the IFR was published August 21st that many did not even pick up on the bigger more concerning industry threat, the WIPHE. There are a million opinions floating around right now and the public comment period still runs through October 20th. It will be anyone’s guess as to how the DEA amends their current language, if they do at all. This could single handedly stop the industry if the DEA doubles down and begins to crack down on hemp processors in the fourth quarter of this year. Hopefully they will weigh out all of the public comments they have received and realize the existing language is just not realistic or practical. We will all know soon enough. . .
