The polar nature means that it does a better job of melting the plant cell walls that contain the oils- the trichomes are polar membranes encasing oils- butane actually sucks at breaking down thise cell walls, when you have a slightly polar molecule like this its like a dream- it actually flows THROUGH the biomass and not around it
Yea it pulls some water soluble undesirables but also pulls all the desirables that butane cant
Ethers are the pretty much least polar functional group.
Dme is te simplest ether
I’m not sure, the material is super dry. I haven’t tried to wash any finished extract with water yet, but that’s a good idea. Just heat it up and whip with distilled water, correct?
I did try to open blast some live, it pulled quite a bit of water and the solution looked very green but it dried to look okay. I will definitely have to work on live extraction tech in my CLS, but I’m also considering freeze drying fresh biomass because I can adjust the freeze dryer to finish at ultra low temperatures and pack/extract immediately.
I wanna see what freeze dried* dme extracted looks like.
Might as well make use of the equipment I’ve got! My brother runs The Health Center / NuHi grow and MIP in Colorado and they have a cryo cure freeze dryer. He was saying they extracted a freeze dried batch and followed the sauce tek, it crystallized and separated in under 2 days.
It should be wetter, if that terpy.
Have you ever seen crystallized butane concentrate (sauce/diamonds?) The mother liquor is literally stacked on top. I don’t believe this is a good concentrate.
Thats what sheee said
So you would be suprised at how euctectic terpenes behave… everyone is actually… its like a whole new field of science
Tell me more.
Also share whatever you’re smoking, you seem like you’re in a good mood lately.
I am leaning towards this opinion also.
But hoping for OP to show me otherwise…
Chromatograph or it didn’t happen
The cannabis plant as it has been bred, is communicating with us, the modern plant scientists, alchemists, and gardeners, telling us how to save the earth via its offerings of complex blends of highly polar and nonpolar terpenes and plant acids, and its looking like we might finally escape the benzene ouroboros apocalypse cycle of petrochemical dominance.
The technology is in its nascent stages, and is the most exciting new development in chemical engineering discoveries in the 21st century.
Why don’t people just make really good bulk amount grinders (like 1lb per grind) and filters that account for any clogging issues? Or figure out the perfect grinding ratio. It’s also my understanding that crc removes color and helps with chlorophyll removal so why not just soak with Butane and crc?
I would take a cue from the rosin boys
First make DHO, then we xtract the DHO with butane- the post extracted DHO will contain water soluble terps which can be distilled in something like summit research’s SPD7 or @goldleaf_scientific new terpene purification system- save the terps and reintroduce to the BHO and voila
lao you dont need to grind DHO nearly as much as bho as it passes through the biomass rather than around it
Damn. That’s a nice fairy tale. Can you weave some angels or elves into that?
Gremlins only, this is the underground
