Chilled Water Skid?

Anyone have any experience with the Low Temp Plates chilled water skid with RO?

I havent yet found any pre-built alternatives to this skid; are there any out there?

Seems like a nice all-in-one package but seems priced high for whats included. Has anyone ever pieced something like this together and could give some pointers? We are small scale, 300gallons should be fine for our use, just want to make sure we have access to clean chilled water for hash making.

Most chillers are going to want tap water or treated water, pure water and RO is corrosive and may ionize steel in the pathway. The chiller they sell that they use as a direct chiller is food grade and made for aquariums. Any solution you may purchase will require a heat exchanger unless the wetted parts are compatible with pure water.

We sell a small chiller for a similar price but you will not be able to directly chill with it. I could discount to price match or get it lower but you’ll need a heat exchanger and maybe a pump to circulate.

Thats a high price tag to have some one do your shopping for you.

Spoon: eco plus 1hp, 260 gallon container, submersible pump, pex.

You should be able to do this at half price with a faster chill rate and flow rate tbh.

Bigger spoon, run 5 eco plus daisy chained on a 1000 gal resi with same ancillary equipment mentioned, never run out of water. And it’ll always be chilled ready to wash.

This will also feed an ice maker and keep up with production for ice.

Thanks for the spoons; waiting on a water test kit and then working on pricing out a system that meets the needs of our water quality and storage requirements.

I found Windy City Water Treatment, any other part suppliers that would be worth looking at?

Also, I’m trying to get a plumber to come hook up a sink now; if I have them also run a hose spigot, similar to a washing machine hook up, would I be able to hook in the filtration system and chiller or do most of these require something like a 1/2" hard copper connection?

Chiller will need to be run through a coil, a jacket of a tank, or your tank will need to be circulated through a heat exchanger.

Heat exchangers can get pricy. Exergy usually is a one stop shop for heat exchangers. I am sure there is cheaper out there.

LMK if you want to price out a 2-5 kW chiller.

Send your water to jacks and have them test it. The full panel tests help a lot. I’m on city water so it changes but it gives you a good starting point.

Fuck exergy is nice but $$$$$

Duda diesel is a pretty good source for reasonably priced plate exchangers. They resell a high quality Chinese one, it’s probably not worth going direct to the OEM unless you’re looking for 5+

eBay occasionally has some killer HX deals too
