Chemistry education resources?

Does anyone have any good free/low cost recommendations for a better understanding of chemistry? I needs to learn.

thanks!

We should post all resources here. Kind of like data dump but just open source resource options. These MIT courses look sweet!

I used the MIT program after I did my Environmental Science degree, bought used textbooks on Amazon and Ebay for under $2000 total. Nothing beats having a formal instructor, mainly because they can answer questions and offer deeper insight, but the MIT stuff is really great. College degrees are not necessary for this line of work but they help if you want to move beyond distillation and solvent extraction, and they tend to help you snag a higher salary in the legal industries.

If you have a local community college, that can be a cheaper alternative to a 4 year school.

I hear a lot of guys in this industry basically say degrees are for chumps. While formal colleges may not pay off in the long run for all people, this does not mean getting an education is for chumps, it just doesn’t have to come from a formal college.

There’s classes and seminars people offer for the cannabis industry on chemical processing and analysis, but they’re not always worth it IMO, often designed as a marketing tool, and or don’t offer real chemistry knowledge beyond the basics involved with cannabis.

Go on indeed or the classifieds here and see if you can grab an entry level job or apprenticeship under a good, trained processor

Hope that helps.

Applied knowledge is most important.

Want to learn chemistry? Get a set of beakers and build your foundations from ground up.

My degree means nothing besides impressing women that I went to one of top schools.

The only thing stopping you is yourself!!!

Could you change the sharing settings? Want to see which textbooks you’ve used

Oops. I’ve taken care of it.
